You can check it out at EZGenerator Tutorials. |
Site Structure View
The site structure typically contains one (or more) language versions of the site. Each language version contains a set of pages, organized in categories (marked with folder icon in Explorer View).
|
Navigation Levels
EZGenerator creates up to three level of menus - first level (represented with categories), second level (represented with pages) and third level (represented with subpages).
The image on the left displays a typical EZGenerator site structure.
Category A and Category B, displayed as folders in Explorer View; and pages Page 1, Page2, etc, listed inside these folders.
For more complex sites, you can set third level menu by creating Subpages (these are pages nested inside a page).

Basic Operations in Explorer
- Left-click a page to see its content in the Main
Screen.
- Double-click a folder to expand/shrink.
- Right-click to access the Explorer Context Menu where
you will find commands to add, duplicate and delete pages. Some of the commands
are also available in the Web
Module File menu
- Click a page title once to change its name (you can also change the name
of a folder that way).
- To move a page to another folder, click its icon and drag it to the new
location.
- To change the order of the web pages: click the icon of a page and drag
it over the icon of another page. After you release the mouse button, the
page will move above the drop target you selected (this operation also applies
for reordering of folders).
- A folder is automatically deleted if it doesn't contain
any pages. You can create a new folder or language version while adding web pages
to the site by using the Add
Web Page dialog. You can
also automatically create a new category with a single page in it via the
Explorer Context Menu (see below).
- To nest a page inside another page (to create subpage),
press and hold the CTRL key on your keyboard,
then drag the icon of a web page and drop it on another web page. You can
also create subpage, using the Explorer Context Menu (see below).
Page Types and Layout
The site can contain different pages (Blog, Lister, Subscribe, Normal pages
etc.) and each has its own icon to be easily recognized in the Explorer View.
For more information on the page types (and the icons assigned to them), check
the Page Types section.
A page, set as Home page (first page shown when a visitor enters the site) is always displayed with the home
page icon
(
),
no matter of its type.
Explorer Context Menu
Right-click in the Explorer panel to access its context menu. The following
commands are available:
- Add Page CTRL+N -
Opens the Add Web Page window
where you can add new pages to the site (you can also add new categories
and site language versions).
- Duplicate Page- Select this command to duplicate
the web page selected in the Explorer view.
The duplicated page has the same type, contents and name as the original,
and shares the same category (folder).
- Delete Page CTRL+DEL -
Deletes the selected web page in the Explorer. You can
not restore a page once it is erased.
- Add Normal Page - Adds a Normal
page to your
site. You will be prompted for the page name.
- Add Subpage - Adds a Normal
page as a subpage. You will be prompted for the page
name.
- Add Category - Adds a new category to
the site. You will be prompted for the category name. Since no empty categories
can exist, a page with the same name will be inserted in the category.
- Add Language - Adds a new Language to
the site. You will be prompted for language name, charset and site name in the corresponding language (you can later change these settings).
- Rename - Renames selected Page, Category or Language
- Hide/Show current page in menu - Allows you to hide/show the page from the site navigation menu. However, the page is still generated (so it can be linked from other pages).
- Make current page your homepage - Makes current page a home page, i.e. it is opened by default when a visitor enters the site. Only one page per language can be set as a home page.
