PROJECT SETTINGS

Upload

This tab is used to define where you want to upload your site. When ready, you press the Publish button at the top of the screen, and your site will be uploaded to the specified location. See the Publishing Your Website page for more details on obtaining a web address and server space.

FTP Account

Check this option when you have domain name and host provider. Fill your FTP account, as provided to you by your hosting company or as stated in your hosting plan documents.

• Host Name or IP address (text box) - Fill in the host name or IP of your FTP host account.
• Server Type (text box) - Determines how project will be uploaded on server: with normal FTP connection or with FTPES TLS, FTPES SSl or FTPS connection that will encrypt data while uploading.
• Use Passive Mode (checkbox) - Enable/Disable passive mode for FTP Transfer. FTP connections have a separate data and command port (or communication channel). Commands are instructions to move data, delete files, change folders etc. The data are the files themselves. In passive mode the FTP the client (EZGenerator) initiates both the data and command connections to the web server. This can solve issues when security protocols (firewalls) block incoming connection requests from the server associated with Active FTP connections.
• Remote Folder (Subfolder) (text box) - On some servers you must upload your website to a specified folder - www, httpdocs, public_html for example. This will be noted in the information provided by your host provider. You must also fill in the remote folder if you want to upload to a subdomain (example: www.mysite.com/myfolder/). In this example you have to fill "myfolder" as remote folder. A subdomain is where you host a second website within your primary hosted location. Details on subdomains are available from your host provider.

• User Name (text box) - The user name for your web-hosting account. You're are keeping a paper-backup copy of this information aren't you?
• Password (text box) - The password for your web-hosting account. You're really are keeping a paper-backup copy of this information aren't you?
• Re-upload online database files (button) - Some special page types as Blog, Calendar, etc store info in database files on server. These files are uploaded on server only once, on first upload. Use this button ONLY in case one or more of these files have not been uploaded on server (these are files with .ezg.php extension).
• FTP Upload Mirrors (button) - Upload the site to more than one location at the same time. Use Add button to add another FTP account. On next upload you will be able to upload project to both servers at the same time. Use switch button if you want to switch locations -

Upload to Local Folder

This option is used when you need to upload and test your project on either different PC (with server on it to run PHP pages etc) or same PC (with localhost server). For more information how to set test server on your PC, check Test Server on my PC.

• Folder (text box) - Specify the destination directory, using the Browse button.
• Re-upload online database files (button) - Some special page types as Blog, Calendar, etc store info in database files. These files are uploaded only once, on first upload. Use this button ONLY in case one or more of these files have not been uploaded to your test directory (these are files with .ezg.php extension).
• Alternative Project Url (text box) - Upload to both FTP and Directory and switch between both. In this case you have the live site url in Site Settings >> Project Url, and the alternative url for your local test site set here.
