Web Template
The Web Template controls general site layout
and style, and contains all data EZGenerator needs to automatically generate
all images for the site navigation menus, submenus, buttons,
framed tables (decorative tables), bullets
etc.
Thanks to the predefined web templates you can concentrate
on creating the actual site content and let EZGenerator generate
the navigation interface and graphics according to the style you
have
selected.
After you have created your site project with a particular template, you can switch to another web template at any time while working on the
project (thus replacing the whole design style)
without any manual work.
The official EZGenerator
website allows you to browse the full set of freeware
templates and dowload them for use in your sites.

Please, note that we have a Video Tutorial available on this topic.
You can check it out at EZGenerator Tutorials. |
To open the Web Template window:
- Switch to the Web module by clicking the Web module icon on the Navigation
Bar.
- In the Main Menu, select Extra
Web Template.
Web Template Settings
The Web Template window contains the following settings:
Template
- Filter (list
box) - The box contains a list of web templates grouped by certain criteria (horizontal or vertical menus, built-in search box and other). For example, if you want to browse only templates with horizontal categories and menu's, you select Templates with horizontal categories and menu's.
- Name (list
box) - This box contains a list of all web templates available
in EZGenerator. The template selected here is used for the current project
(you can see a preview
of the template design in the window as you select the various entries).
Click the "+" and "-"
buttons to switch to the next or previous template, respectively.
- Style (list
box) - Each template has one or more styles, each of them having different
color theme and/or images used to form the template design. The Style
list box contains a list of all styles available for the currently
selected web template. You can see a preview of the template design changes
in the window as you switch between the various styles. Click the "+"
and "-" buttons to switch to the next
or previous style, respectively.
- Search for Template Updates (button)
- Click this button when you want EZGenerator to connect to Internet
and check for new templates and template styles.
Note, that
this will not download templates, but only their preview icons
for each style, and also will make them available in the Template list
(see above). The template will be downloaded only after you select it from the list box and press the Download button (unless it has already been
downloaded). Another way to download certain styles for any available
template is the Template Browser (see below).
For all downloaded templates you will see OK button on the right, and for all not yet downloaded - Download button, along with the message "This template style is not installed on your pc" at the bottom. For all templates that are downloaded on your pc, but a message in red "This template style is installed on your pc. New version is available on server" is shown at the bottom, use OK button to get the template update.
- Browse (button) -
Click this button to display the Templates
Browser (see
below). The Templates Browser displays all web templates available on the EZGenerator
website and allows you to download them to your copy of EZGenerator.
Options
- Use Text Menus (check
box) - If this option is checked, the text in the website's navigation
menu is displayed using standard HTML text, otherwise EZGenerator renders
the
text as a graphic on the menu images. This option may be unavailable for
some templates.
- Space Saving Menus (check
box) - If this option is checked, the viewers have to click the site
menu entries to expand the contained submenu (useful for sites with many submenu
entries). If the option is not checked, all submenus are visible at the same
time. This option may be unavailable for some templates.
- Reset Template (button) - Use this button if you want to reset template default settings. This will remove all your template customizations.
