Google Maps

The Google Maps widget inserts a Google Maps in the page. Google Maps is a free service, provided by Google, that allows you to set a location and embed the maps.

The widget is not displayed in EDIT mode. Switch to BROWSE mode or make an offline preview to see the widget in context. While in EDIT mode you will see this icon:

The preview icon shows the actual size of the widget on the page. You can insert multiple Google Map widgets in a single page.

To insert Google Maps widget:

Position the cursor | where you want to insert the widget.
Go to Editing Tools.
ClickWidgets button and select Google Maps.
Adjust the form settings (see below) and press OK. You can change the settings later by double-clicking the widget icon while in EDIT mode.

Double-click the widget preview icon to open its settings window:

Client Settings

Address Settings

Address (edit box) - Type the address you want to show on page. Use (,) or space as separator. Use the Get Geo key from Address to center your map on the address entered. For example: 1600 Amphitheater Pkwy, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. You can also use place names, for example: statue of liberty.
GeoKey (edit box) - Press Get Geo key from Address button to generate Geo Key for the specified address. A Geo Key is a location format used that encodes a grid reference for the map system to display. You can also paste a GeoKey from your GPS or from any other source in the format: 40.690742,-74.054933 (latitude and longitude).

Map Settings

Width & Height (number selection boxes) - Map height and width.
Zoom (number selection box) - Zoom level for the map. Don't use the zoom slider on the map itself to set the zoom as this is not remembered.
Map Id (edit box) - Set an ID for the map. You can leave this at the default or define a custom ID, where you need to insert multiple Google Maps on a page. Make sure these IDs are unique.
Border (edit box, drop-down menu and color picker) - Border width, style and color for the map.

Info Window

Info Window (drop-down menu) - Enables an info window in the map. You have three options 1. Window without marker (window is always open), 2. With marker (when it is clicked the info window will open), 3. none (info window is disabled).
Info window text (edit box) - When the info window is enabled, type the info to be displayed here (e.g "Alturos fish restaurant is a great place for a family treat").
Marker Caption (edit box) - Caption for the info window (e.g. "Looking for seafood").

Map Controls

Navigation Controls (drop-down menu ) - Navigation controls to be included in the map. With Small, only the zoom controls (zoom in and zoom out) are included. With Default, small map controls (north, south, east, west, zoom in and zoom out) are included. The third option is none.
Map Type Control (drop-down menu) - Set how the controls appear - default, as drop-down menu or none.
Initial Map Type view (drop-down menu) - Select map type: Normal, Satellite, Hybrid, Terrain.
Add Scale Control (check box) - Include a map scale in the map (at the bottom left).
Directions (check box) - Include directions on the map.
Directions Button Caption (check box) - Check this box to include caption for the directions button.
Language (drop-down menu) - Sets the language used on the map.

Custom Settings

Custom Overlays (edit box ) - Add custom scripts. E.g. for custom markers (not associated with the maps center location), fill the GeoKey or Address below and press Add marker button at the bottom.
Marker GeoKey (edit box ) - If you want to add custom marker by GeoKey, type the GeoKey here and then press Add marker button at the bottom.
Address (edit box ) - Set a custom marker by Address, type the address here and then press Add marker button at the bottom.
Marker Caption (edit box ) - Add caption to the custom marker.
Add Marker (button) - Fill GeoKey or Address, also Caption (if you need it) and press the button to generate a custom script.

Use Refresh button to check how your map will look like if settings are applied.

Use the OK button to apply the settings or Cancel button to cancel them.

Presets

To load predefined settings or save current settings and use them later for another object, use the Presets option (at the top left corner). For more information see Presets.
