This panel provides you with access to the general settings for each page in
your site. The following settings are available:

- Page Title (text
box) - Sets the page title, the text that is shown in the Browser title bar. This is also what the search engines pick up.
- Menu Title (text
box) - Sets the menu item title. This is the text that shows when you move the cursor over the menu item. Leave this box empty, if you don't want to set menu title. Use Apply button to apply the change.

status bar while the visitors move their mouse over the navigation menu's
link to this page. If the text box is empty, the link to the page is displayed
instead.
- Directory (combo
box) - Sets the folder in which the page will be stored on your computer. The default folder is 'documents'. You can select any other existing folder or create new one, using the Add button.
- Filename (text
box) - Sets the page filename. Leave this box empty, if you want to use the default filename generated from EzGenearator (unique number or name). In case you set custom filename, use Apply button to apply the change.
SEO/Robots
- Keywords (text
box) - You can type here keywords associated with the current page.

keywords
will bring more traffic to your web site. You can use multiple keywords:
use
"," (comma) as a separator between the words.
- Description (text
box) - You can type here a short (one or two sentences) description
of the page. Page descriptions are used by most search engines to hint the
user for the page contents.
- Priority (combo
box) - Sets the priority of this page relative to the other pages on your site. This value is included into the XML sitemap (if created) and provides general information to search engines. See Site Settings window. This value has no effect on your pages compared to pages on other sites, and only lets the search engines know which of your pages you deem most important.
- Frequency (combo
box) - Sets how frequently the page is likely to change. This value is include into the XML sitemap (if created) and provides general information to search engines. See Site Settings window.

Visibility/Protection
- Hidden in menu (check

menu. However, the page is still generated (so it can be linked from other pages) and included in the sitemap.

box) - If checked, EZGenerator will exclude current page from site built-in .
- Ext. Link (text
box) - Use this property if you want to link certain page to external URL. When site visitors select this page
from the
site menu, the browser will open the linked external page instead.
Note: you can use absolute or relative paths here.
- Target (combo
box) - This parameter sets the target frame of the page. The default
choice opens the page in its designated frame inside the site.
Whole Page results in the page replacing the navigation menu and other
frames in the site, so only the page alone is visible in the browser (this
setting is suitable when linking to an external site). New
Window opens the page in a new browser window.
- Protection (combo
box) - Use this property if you want to the current page, or (for special pages only) to set a special page admin screen under control.
For normal pages, the combo box has two options: Protected and Unprotected.
For special pages only (as Blog, Subscribe, Calendar, etc), the combo box provides three options: Protected and controlled by Central Admin - select this option when you want to protect the current page. In this case Read/Write access to the page will be controlled by Central Admin. Please, define Login page if this option is selected. Unprotected, Admin section controlled by Central Admin - select this option when you don't want to protect the current page, but you want the Write Access (to admin screen) to the page to be controlled by Central Admin. Please, define Login page if this option is selected. Unprotected, Admin section controlled by Page password - select this option when you don't want to protect the current page, and don't want the Write Access (to admin screen) to be controlled by Central Admin. In this case, admin screen is protected directly by username & password defined in the corresponding special page.
Note: Direct protection of Write Access (to admin screen) is depreciated and supported only for compatibility with old EZGenerator versions. Recommended is Central Admin control.
If you protect a page, make sure to first create Login page in your site project, and then associate this login page with the current page, using the Login page property as explained below.
For more information, see and .
- Login page (url
picker) - Sets the login page that will control the current page. For more information, see and .
For Online Editable Page only - In case edit mode is directly protected (option Unprotected, Admin section controlled by Page password is selected - DEPRECIATED), use Password editbox to set password to access edit page. Use Re-use check box if you have more than one Online Editable Pages and want to reuse the password for all or few of them. For example, if you have two Online Editable Pages with same password and want to enable/disable them at same time, set same password for both and check Re-use box for both. This way every time you enable/disable the first page you will also enable/disable the second page.
For Shop only - In case your shop back-end is directly protected (option Unprotected, Admin section controlled by Page password is selected - DEPRECIATED), use Password editbox to set password to access shop back-end.
Scripts
- Body Tag (text
box) - EXPERTS ONLY! This option is
provided for advanced users only, who might want to include some specific
HTML parameters in the page BODY tag (<BODY>). It's highly recommended that novice users leave this field empty as it may cause your page to render
incorrectly.
- Background (button) - Use this button to access Page Background window, where you can change page background color or set background image. You can press CTRL and click in the Background-color edit field, and move mouse over template to recognize colors.
To change background for the whole site, go to Site Settings.
- Page Scripts (text
box) - EXPERTS ONLY! This option is
provided for advanced users only, and allows you to include custom scripts
(like JavaScript) in the HTML header section. Click the More Scripts
button for a bigger multiline box (useful when working with bigger scripts).
It's highly recommended that novice users leave this field empty as it may
cause your page to render incorrectly.
Language
Charset (combo
box) - Lets you set different charset for current page only.
Special Page Settings
This section is enabled only for certain page types and contains settings, specific
for them. This section is named after the page it refers to - for example, the Special Page Settings section for Blog page is named Blog Page Settings. For more information, see the Page
Types section.
Fields
The Fields list is a quick and easy way to add macros and
special objects to your page. Instead of typing the macros manually,
you can simply drag a field icon from the list in this panel and drop it
in
the desired location in the page. The appropriate macro script/object will
be automatically inserted in that location.
The Fields list contains several special fields as well (unlike database fields,
which are black, the special fields are gray). These fields are specific for each
page
type and are described in the Page Types section.
Field Properties
The Field Properties section displays context sensitive properties of the
currently selected field. Adjust those properties before adding a field to
the form. For more information on the properties available for each field/object
type, see Field Properties.
NOTE: It is important to remember that although
useful, the Fields list does not offer the full functionality macros support.
For more
information on macros and full syntax description, see Macros.
Page Preview/Edit Area
The Page Preview area resembles a standard rich text editor. It shows
the page preview and allows you to alter the page layout and contents.
Right-clicking in the the Page Preview area displays the More
Settings menu, which contains context-sensitive commands (depending
on your selection and position in the page) and some general functions, such
as cut, copy and paste. See More Settings.
Right-clicking in the Template area (menus, template images) displays the Editable Template Elements menu, which contains options for customizing certain template elements. See Template Elements Menu.
Some templates contain small EDIT button that allows you to insert additional content in template area.
